35 GHZ RADARS

Infinition, Canada

BR-3502

An affordable range of Doppler radar that is highly capable to measure the velocity of moving objects more accurately with unmatched precision.

Description

This range of Doppler radar antenna uses the Doppler principle to determine the speed of moving objects.

It is a reasonably priced radar that has a number of applications, including measuring the muzzle velocity of projectiles, the in-bore velocity, the velocity at extremely close range, etc. It is an excellent alternate for optical chronographs.

This Doppler radar is portable and simple to deploy and operate. It operates at 35.5GHz and has a resolution that is more than three times better than that of a 10.5GHz (X-Band) radar, allowing it to be employed with very small projectile calibers (ex: 1mm).

The BR-3502 is ideally suited for inside ballistic ranges where extremely shortrange measurements (a few meters or less) are carried out. Depending on the projectile’s caliber, it can also be used outside for short-range measurements up to 250 meters (and beyond).

Performance

Based on real measurements of various projectile calibers, the BR-3502 unit’s performance has been determined. The impact of the projectile aspect angle along the trajectory is taken into account when calculating the range performance in the table below.

BR-3503

An amazingly affordable range of Doppler radar that is highly capable to measure the velocity of moving objects with unmatched precision and utmost accuracy.

Description

This series of Doppler radar shares many features with BR-3502 but in addition has a larger gain to increase the radar’s potential range, also commonly known as the big brother of the BR-3502 Doppler radar. It is still a simple to deploy and use solution. It operates at 35.5GHz and offers more than three times the resolution of a 10.5GHz (X-Band) radar, making it suitable for use with very small projectile calibers (ex: 1mm spheres).

This Doppler radar BR-3503 is specially made for interior ballistic range in which short range measurements are performed, that is down to few meters only.

Depending on the projectile’s caliber, it can also be used outside for short- and medium-range measurements.

Performance

Based on real measurements of various projectile calibers, the BR-3503 unit’s performance has been determined. The impact of the projectile aspect angle along the trajectory is taken into account when calculating the range performance in the table below.
